Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to the questions shippers actually ask us on a first call. If yours is not here, call (865) 317-3376.
Is National Group LLC a broker or an asset-based carrier?
We operate as a property broker: we arrange transportation and place your freight with licensed, insured motor carriers that we have vetted. We do not own the tractors and trailers, and that relationship is stated on every rate confirmation you receive.
What information do you need to give me a quote?
Pickup and delivery ZIP codes, commodity description, total weight, pallet count and dimensions, whether the freight is stackable, any temperature requirement, and the pickup and delivery windows. If you have a bill of lading from a past shipment, that usually contains everything we need.
How quickly will I get a rate?
Most standard lanes are quoted within four business hours. Complex, oversized, or multi-stop moves may take until the next business day. We will always tell you if something will take longer.
How long is a quote valid?
Seven calendar days unless the quote says otherwise. Truckload pricing is market-driven and can move quickly during holidays, produce season, and severe weather events.
Do you require a minimum volume or a contract?
No. We handle single shipments and ongoing programs alike. Recurring customers often sign a simple broker-shipper agreement, but it is not a volume commitment.
Is my freight insured?
Every carrier in our network is required to maintain active cargo and auto liability coverage, and we verify certificates before tendering. Standard cargo limits apply; if your shipment exceeds typical limits, tell us in advance and we will arrange appropriate coverage.
What happens if my shipment is damaged or lost?
Note the damage on the delivery receipt before signing, photograph it, and contact us the same day. We open the claim with the carrier on your behalf, supply the documentation, and follow it through to resolution. See our Terms of Service for the full claims process.
What are your payment terms?
New accounts are typically prepaid or paid by card for the first two shipments. After a short credit review we can offer net-15 or net-30 terms. Invoices are issued with the signed proof of delivery attached.
Can I cancel a booked shipment?
Yes. If you cancel before a carrier is dispatched there is normally no charge. Once a truck has been dispatched or has arrived at pickup, a truck-order-not-used fee may apply. Details are in our Billing and Refunds policy.
Do you handle hazardous materials?
We handle certain hazmat classes with properly placarded and certified carriers, subject to review. We do not accept household goods moves, live animals, firearms, or freight that requires special federal licensing we do not hold.
Do you ship internationally?
Our services cover the continental United States. We handle drayage and transload of import containers arriving at U.S. West Coast ports, but we do not act as a customs broker or ocean freight forwarder.
How do I track my shipment?
Your coordinator sends pickup confirmation the same day and status updates on each business day in transit, with immediate notification of any exception. You can also call or email at any time during business hours for a live update.
Who owns the company and who will I be dealing with?
National Group LLC is owned by Seungyeon Lee and operated from Happy Valley, Oregon. Every account is assigned a named coordinator, and the owner is reachable directly for escalations.
How do you handle my business data?
We collect only what we need to quote and move your freight, we do not sell personal information, and we retain records as required by transportation regulations. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
